SNAPSHOT/TSC v10.12 PTF
7-Jan-2006
---------------------------------------

About this PTF:
***************

** Memory processing causes high CPU usage and slows processing down to outside
the 2 minute selected interval. The programs in this PTF allow Memory collection
to be turned off if this is the case.

** Library statistics collection and data purge would not be submitted if the time
for these jobs was left at the default provided (00:02). This has been found to
be due to a difference in the hour being either 24 or 00. This has been corrected.

** Remote monitors would not start automatically. In this case, a remote was added
to the system after another remote was deleted. The new remote assumed the same site
number (internal) as the deleted remote. The remote was deemed to have been running
and was marked active. The new remote collection was not started.
This has been corrected.

** Remote maintenance (adding new remotes) would not activate remote monitoring.
This was due to a missing file header in the Remote Master file. A check is now
made to make sure the header exists every time maintenance is performed.

** Group maintenance (adding new groups) would fail.
This was due to a missing file header in the Remote Master file. A check is now
made to make sure the header exists every time maintenance is performed.

** Error CPF950A (Storage limit exceeded for DataQue SNP110DQ) was consistently
issued by the system. A change has been made to the program that creates the dataqueue
to specify a maximum size of 16Mb.

** Disk capacity figures and percentage used have been adjusted to now align with the
numbers reported by the IBM WRKSYSSTS command.

Installation
************

SNAPSHOT/TSC PTF 10.12 is provided as a savefile (SNPSYSPTF)
containing the programs and objects resolving errors.

Installation steps
******************

   1. Copy the supplied PTF file (SNPSYSPTF) to a directory on your PC.

For example, copy the file to C:\TEMP.

   2. Create a savefile on the AS/400:

	CRTSAVF QGPL/savefilename

      	For example, 'CRTSAVF QGPL/SNPSYSPTF'

   3. From the PC, start an FTP session and sign on to the AS/400. Transfer
       the file in Binary mode:

	C:\temp> FTP <myas400>
	ftp> Username?
	ftp> Password?
	ftp> Binary
	ftp> put SNPSYSPTF QGPL/SNPSYSPTF

   4. For this PTF, it is required to end the Snapshot/TSC sub-system.

   5. From the AS/400, restore the saved library from the savefile directly
        into the Snapshot system library:

	  RSTLIB SAVLIB(SNPSYSPTF) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/SNPSYSPTF) MBROPT(*ALL) +
	    ALWOBJDIF(*ALL) RSTLIB(SNAPSHOT)

   6. A message will be displayed on completion:

8 objects restored from SNPSYSPTF to SNAPSHOT.

   7. Clear the disk data

         CLRPFM FILE(SNAPSHOT/SNPDTADSK)

   9. Delete the save file

	DLTF QGPL/savefilename
